Analysis and design

Our engineering department utilises the usual tools available these days. Tools such as 3D CAD, finite element analysis (FEA) and discrete element analysis (DEM) are commonly available and very easy to list on a website.

What is not often appreciated however, is that simulation tools such as FEA and DEM can be used to provide any answer that the user is looking for – a simulation is a simulation, and making sure that it reflects reality requires a thorough understanding of real world applications and the inner workings of the tool being used.

So while we do make extensive use of tools like FEA and DEM, we have the practical experience to ensure that simulations are set up properly and that results reflect reality. Where they don’t, we conduct real testing to make sure.

Maintenance-focused design

Torsion Engineering appreciate that the end users of our products are not engineers or purchasing officers, but maintenance personnel who will be given the task of installing, monitoring and maintaining the things. Anyone who has ever fixed a car or spent any time in maintenance knows that there is nothing worse than a product designed by engineers who have never picked up a spanner!

Through a combination of in-house experience and collaboration with industry experts, we are able to provide solutions that are focused on ensuring that the products are easy to install, easy to monitor and easy to maintain.
